Our annual meeting was held at the Port Bolivar VFD on Loop 108.
Saturday, July 2nd.

The Greeting: Mary Lou Bartula and Esther Huebel met and greeted all the members and their guests at the door. After signing in and receiving their name tags everyone was directed to Melissa Kuykendall's station where Door Prize tickets were given to each person in attendance. Steve and Mona Davison manned the raffle station where (8) great items were being offered. It was followed by the "Silent Auction" table where another (8) great items were being offered. The last two stations were for the fishing tournament. The first was manned by Colet Clayton and Gayle Johnston. The other was a local vendor artist David Lovell with his fish print art displays.
The Meeting: As promised started on time at 8:00 PM and finished on time at 8:30. Steve Davison conducted the meeting. Due to another open position on the board, all of the candidates that ran for office were elected. The actual positions they will be holding will come out of the first meeting of the board. Voting on the Deed Restriction was closed and the tally was announced. With 80 of the 105 lots having voted and that number representing a majority of the lots, a valid vote was established. All (6) issues passed, see breakdown. Charlotte Fontenot was recognized to speak to the issue of lots 1,2 and 3 having their residential exemption removed from the deed restrictions. After her comments, by a show of hands, enough people present indicated a desire to revisit that particular issue. It was agreed to deal with her concerns as a "single issue," a stand alone and not be mixed with any other issues. Mrs Fontenot will be presenting her case to have her lots changed back to being exempted again as "commercial" in the very near future.

Volunteers: Events this size do not happen without the gracious efforts of our many volunteers. Please express your appreciation to them for their work on the meeting and the tournament. The board would like you to please consider helping with our meeting and tournament next year. Please join us in extending our appreciation and thanks to:
Entertainment: Butch Leger and his Son's of the Beach band played late and was great!.
Libations: There was beer and setups. Thanks again to Giglio Distributing from Beaumont and Mike and Jo Beth Jenkins for their donation of (7) cases of beer. They requested that we ask for a $1.00 per beer donation. $90.00 was raised to benefit the kids in the Kona Kai fishing tournament. .
Thanks again to our contributors:
Due to the closeness in time between the annual meeting and the tournament,
the solicitation of donations for the most part did not draw a distinction
between the two events. As a result, items donated by the following people
and businesses may be utilized
in either event. We appreciate their donations and strongly
encourage your patronage of their businesses. The following have already committed
donations to Kona Kai.
