Golf Cart - Theft ALERT! UPDATE!

Sometime after 11:00 Friday night 5/27/11,

again on Saturday night 5/28/11,

and again on Sunday night 5/29/11...

(8) Golf Carts were stolen on and near Boyt Road.

Three were from Kona Kai Owners and one was from a Seiver's Cove owner.

As of Sunday 6/19/11 only (7) have been recovered with some sustaining damage, some major.

Please, take precautions..

If possible, keep cart locked up inside, otherwise use a chain and a lock.
Consider a hidden switch to disable the cart or a burglar alarm.
Don't leave the key in the cart, but know that (1) key fits all carts of each brand.
Have the serial number of your cart handy locally.
Several copies of a recent picture can prove critical, immediately after a theft.

If your cart should happen to be stolen:

Immediately report it to the Sherriffs Department at (409) 766-2300, Option #2 and file a report!
Tell a board member.
Enlist the help of friends and neighbors to search the beach and streets in the area.
Show other cart owners the picture of your cart.
Solicit information from anyone that might have seen something relevent.
Report the theft to your insurance company.

Note! Some policies may require that the cart be chained if it is not stored inside a locked area.

2011 Club Car, red, factory headlights, radio, beige top, jacked up and flip kit back seat. Don't have the owner's name
but he is beliebed to live on Ocean Sand off Boyt on the South side of the highway. If you see a cart of this description, please contact the Sherriffs office or Jim Kuykendall or Bill Settegast.
